The clock has complicated calendar work: the lower dial shows the day and the week (bottom, right), the date (bottom, center), the month and the zodiac sign (bottom, left), the moon date and phase (center). The upper dial shows the length the night and position of the sun. All the inscriptions are written in Italian. The clock either has been ordered by Italian customer in France, or done in Italy by French clockmaker.
